Bainbridge Island Rowing Club is a community-based, non-profit 501c(3) organization, founded in 2001. Its purpose is to promote all facets of the sport of rowing. BIRC activities take place at Waterfront Park on Bainbridge Island and throughout the greater Puget Sound area. BIRC is a member of USRowing, Northwest Region. Our goals are to: - Introduce the public at large to the sport of rowing
- Provide rowing, training, and related programs for juniors and adults, novice and experienced rowers, on Bainbridge Island and throughout Kitsap County
- Provide coaching and education for rowers, coxswains, and others interested in supporting BIRC
- Provide training for local, regional, and national rowing competition
Membership in Bainbridge Island Rowing is open to anyone interested in rowing or in supporting crew on Bainbridge and the greater Kitsap area. Our success as an organization depends in large part on the involvement and volunteer efforts of our members, who are expected to contribute by joining committees and work parties. Join now and help us grow! Bainbridge Island Rowing welcomes new members at any time. Annual fess for 2007 are $150/year; rowing fees vary by program. Benefits of membership include access to all BIRC rowing programs, voting privileges at the annual and other special meetings -- and the opportunity to help build a vibrant rowing community on Bainbridge Island.
