Coaches and Managers,

Below are the registration requirements for ICSL.  I am in the process of organizing a time when your team representative will need to meet with me(or another volunteer) to submit your teams ICSL registration paperwork.  I am trying to lock down a time where I have the most volunteers to help me out with this process.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED (please ask your teams)....I could use some additional help processing the paperwork  IT WILL BE Either Next Week OR The following week so your paperwork should be just about complete.

Uniform Orders -Striker Soccer

Coaches-

Please see information from George Garthly- Striker Soccer in Doylestown.

BUSC Uniform Oders

  • One form must be used for each color. One for the green and one for the white. Shorts need only be listed on one of the forms.
  • Uniform numbers are placed in the space provided according to each size ordered.
  • Phone numbers are most important for, if any questions pop up, we want to be able to contact someone while we are numbering and not have to wait a day or two.
  • The form is simple and should be easy to follow. use this link:  http://www.tcteams.com/busoccer/uploads/StrikerOrderDoc.xls
  • All though a guesstimate order was placed, earlier this year, the total and final count, according to sizes, must be placed now for us to be able to accurately fill all needs by the time wanted.
  • All Teams should use this form even if they are only order One item.

Buckingham Township Field Use Rules

Below are the rules in place from Buckingham Township in regards to use of township fields.

1. No games or PRACTICE may take place if it is raining.

2. No games may take place if the fields received 1" or more of rain the day before.

3. If it is not raining in the morning, but starts to rain during the day, those games may not be played. We know this poses a problem for travel teams as some visiting teams come a long distance to play. Try to see if a field is available and open at Herbst....

These rules do not apply to Herbst or the school fields, but we ask you to use common sense about playing on the fields during bad weather.

(Especially fields like Holicong Jr High that do not have much grass to begin with.

If you use the fields when they are closed per these rules the township can and has pulled permission for BUSC to use the fields for all teams. Please use common sense.

Thank You

Red Bulls Club Nights Reminder

Dear Fellow Coaches:

This is a reminder to please promote and encourage your players and families to attend some or all of our Red Bull Club nights. We need to make these TEAM events. This is important that we as coaches do this for several reasons...

  • We are their Soccer mentors and getting our players to watch professional level games is an important way to learn how to play the game. We need to lead this initiative.
  • Kids will actually practice on their own and work harder at your practices when they have developed a real passion for the game and really aspire to be a better player. Becoming a fan of the professional game builds that passion. We need to nurture that passion.
  • Kids enjoy doing things as a team... my boys love overnight tournaments... not because the games or the tournaments are really any different than local ones. They love hanging out together... at Dinner, at the pool... everywhere. These games are another great team event that builds friendships and helps keep teams together. Make these games a TEAM event... once half get on board the others will follow... but we as coaches need to get it started
  • It's FUN... It's good for your TEAM... It's good for the Club ... help make your players real FANS... It's a Beautiful Game!

Thanks for humoring me... and reading this.

Memo from Donna Destefano - Scheduling- Important- please respond

Dear BU Coaches & Managers:

I will be making up the August & Fall practice Schedule in the next several weeks. Before I do that, I need some information from you. If you did NOT attend the Coaches meeting last night ~ PLEASE ANSWER the following QUESTIONS below and send it to me in an e-mail format to donnabobbycooper@comcast.net . Once I receive all your info, all future e-mails will come from me. (I need to get you into my system)

Also to all coaching staff: The practice schedule will be set by Oldest Age Group gets first picks and trickles down from there. When my son was in the U9 age group (years ago) that was how things were set up ~ & it is the fairest way to set up schedules. I will do my very best to schedule your team in the slots you would like ~ but upon reviewing everyones first and second choices ~ everyone wants the same dates & not many want Fridays. (For those who have not turned in their info to me yet ~ Friday's is a great day to choose!) I will touch base with each of you as an individual once I return from vacation.

As for the month of July

~ DO NOT GO ON FIELDS 1,2,3, OR 4 as they are under maintenance.

YOU MAY USE THE BACK FIELDS at your discretion for the month of JULY.

Share with others when they come. If you all run into a huge scheduling conflict let me know and I'll create a schedule if you all can't figure it out on your own.

Let the fun begin ~ and GO USA ~ Best wishes for a fun season ahead.

Fall Season Kick off Training Camp - message from Kristian Bates of UK Elite

Coaches,

I know many of you have confirmed your team in attending the pre-season training week at Herbst Field Aug 16-20th 5-8pm. There are a few teams that I have not heard from yet especially the new teams this would be a great help for you first season.

Benefits of pre-season training:

•1. Players commit to the week and the attendance will be high if the week is set up early in advance.

•2. There is a proven benefit of team bonding, esp. if there are new players. Without the training week the players enter the season as a disparate group lacking cohesion and objectives.

•3. There is a psychological benefit (parents and players) in relation to commitment and expectation i.e. the management takes the season seriously enough to put a week aside to prepare. Committed teams at any age/level would not consider entering a season without it.

•4. The week can be used as an incentive to train throughout the summer i.e. it is intense and requires prior physical preparation by each individual player. They can be given a fitness and technical regime to prepare.

•5. Parent coaches can still organize pick up practices prior to the camp week to prepare if they feel it will be well attended

•6. Each day is long enough to address technical work, tactical work , a game to finish and a game analysis. The full coaching cycle can be addressed each day

•7. Deficiencies witnessed in the scrimmages can be addressed through relevant activities the following day rather than 4-5 days later. It is the perfect learning environment.

•8. Each day is long enough to provide individual players with more detailed and specific feedback and long enough to see if they have assimilated the feedback.

•9. The players enter the season with all concepts fresh in their mind and with a clear idea of the team strategies.

If any teams are interested please call Kristian Bates on the contact information below...

Coaches Memo BUSC Tryouts

BUSC Coaches -

Tryouts begin next week for BUSC.  We've had advertisements appearing in the Intell and Ed has posted our signs up all over the area!  We will be sending out an email blast newsletter to prospects and our exisitng base, which includes guest and inactive players that you may have on your team site.

The Registration is officially open on our website and the Tryout Page has many FAQ's posted that should help new registrants answer questions they may have. Please post on your website your tryout dates.

I plan on sending tryout rosters(excel spreadsheet) a few days before your tryout and then the day of.  If you need updates as to the numbers signed up or a listing sooner, simply email me at buckinghamunitedsc@verizon.net

Last year we received great feedback on our tryouts and how smoothly they ran.  Please remind your players to welcome new players with respect and BUSC sportsmanship.

Some coaches have asked how we are running the tryouts this year.  Hopefully the facts below will clear up any confusion or lingering questions:

  • Head Coaches of each Age Group run their tryouts.
  • Have your managers run the check in table
  • Independent evaluators will be supplied by the Club thorugh Neil Smart of SMART Soccer.  He will assign a trainer for your nights.
  • You may also solicit the help of other coaches - I can send out an email with your request to the coaching database if you'd like
  • BUSC suggest that you use small-sided games to evaluate the players as well as a full side on the last day
  • Have evaluation forms that are easy to use for your evaluators- if you need a sample - I can supply
  • If a player cannot make the tryout dates, you can absolutely try them out at your practice
  • Use a Number system to identify players, not names.  The running shoe stores can usually provide race numbers to pin on.  Consider buying with a few coaches and re-use for your own tryout.  Don't forget to buy safety pins!
  • All players must register- preferably online to check off the waiver, otherwise please have paper copies at your field.
  • Please address the parents and let them know your ground rules for tryouts to run smoothly(such as observe silently, no coaching etc)
  • Let parents and players know that a decision will be made within 2 weeks that will identify the team(s)  It's suggested that you ask for their acceptance within 24 hours and a deposit to ensure their commitment.

As soon as Neil Smart has the list of trainers identifed, I will email the list out.  If you have any questions, please email me.  Good Luck everyone!  Have Fun!

Registration is now OPEN for Try outs

Tryout FAQ Page

Thanks!
