CBAA Policy on Multiple Sports and Primary Seasons

CBAA's purpose is to provide opportunities for the youth athletes of Central Bucks to participate and

develop at a competitive level in one or more sports in both travel and intramural programs. As the

level of competition has increased in the travel programs for basketball, lacrosse and soccer, each sport

has extended their competitive year throughout the calendar year.

Cooperation and respect on the part of all sports programs and their intramural programs, their officers

and coaches is a goal of CBAA.

CBAA COMMENT ON LAWSUIT OVER SOCCER NOISE

In response to the lawsuit announced April 10, 2008 in which neighbors of Holicong Middle School are suing over the perceived noise levels emanating from CBAA soccer games and practices there, CBAA issued the following comment:

CBAA COMMENT ON LAWSUIT OVER SOCCER NOISE

CBAA Board had an opportunity to review the allegations made in the Complaint and believes the claims made by the Stellars are meritless.

Wednesday June 3rd, 7:30pm Please attend, all are welcomed: Zoning Board Hearing

APPEAL ACTIONS OF ZONING OFFICER:
Applicant:

This hearing will address the field lighting issue at Herbst Sports Complex.  Plumstead Twp provided in its approval of the Herbst Phase II Plan ("Back Fields") that lighted sports would be provided by Plumstead Twp by July 2008 or that CBAA would be allowed to install lights at Herbst.  The Plumstead Twp Supervisors have not fulfilled met this obligation.  In the fall of 2008, CBAA sought a permit and placed temporary lights at Herbst; it is unclear as to what happened during the permitting and approval process but a permit was not issued and shortly thereafter CBAA was cited for operating these lights at Herbst.  As many of you are aware, these lights were shutdown by 9 PM on weeknights and were not used on weekends.

This hearing is to resolve the Zoning Officer citation issued to CBAA; more importantly, it is an opportunity for all CBAA members especially Plumstead residents to tell the Twp to support youth recreation with playing fields.  Many of you may not be aware of this but Plumstead Twp provides no municipally-owned park and facilities for use by CBAA programs (basketball, soccer, and lacrosse) and Plumstead youth athletes make up nearly one-third of the CBAA membership.

Please come out and support CBAA at this hearing; if you can not attend the hearing then please contact the Plumstead Twp Supervisors contact by phone, email, mail or in person and tell them to support youth recreation in our local communities.
