CB South wins 13-2 over CR North
NEWTOWN, PA -- The Titans of Central Bucks South ran away with their third straight victory, a 13-2 win over the Council Rock North Indians.
CB South got two early goals from Evan Falkowski, and never looked back. Four first half goals from Brendan McGrath, and one from team captain Anthony Paone; along with solid defense, and strong goaltending from Dillon Kelly, gave the Titans a 7-0 halftime lead.
When Paone added an early second half goal, it looked like the rout was on. However, Council Rock North's Matt Moller had other ideas. He lasered a shot past CB South goalie Robbie Richick, to put the Indians on the board.
A CB South penalty gave the Indians another chance; but the Titan defense came up big. Kevin Uzelac would not allow the CR North attack to penetrate the box for quality shots, and Kevin Witchey had some key clears.
"I'm very proud of our man-down defense," stated CB South Head Coach, Mike Sharman. "They did not allow a single goal," he added.
When the Indians did get a quality shot, the CB South triumvirate of goalies (Dillon Kelly, Robbie Richick, and Mike DeVito) were up to the task.
Brendan McGrath led all scorers with five goals, while Evan Falkowski and Anthony Paone contributed 3 goals and 1 assist each.
CR North goalie, Brett McDonald made 18 saves, in a valiant effort, but the Titan attack was just too much.
