The Cashmere Bulldogs summer baseball team completed their 21 game schedule in Quincy on Wednesday. The Dawgs fell to the Ferendale Eagles by the score of 8-0 in the championship game of the Quincy Wood Bat Tournament. The Dawgs had a very successful season and our looking forward to defending their 1A state championship in the spring of 2011.
The Cashmere Bulldogs won their first State Championship baseball title in school history on Saturday by defeating the Chimacum Cowboys 5-4. Nick Tarver’s one-out RBI single drove home Luke Dilly for the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Bulldogs finish the 2010 season with a 21-3 record, Caribou Trail League Champions, District 6 Champions, Regional Champions, and 2010 1A State Champions.
Luke Dilly (W, 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER) pick up the win on the hill in relief of Trenton Johnson (4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, K, 3 BB). Dilly also got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard for the first time in the 4th inning when he blasted his 8th home-run of the season to lead off the inning.
Alex Chipman led off the 5th inning with a triple and came around to score on a wild pitch to the tie the score at 2-2. Later in the inning Spencer Lee doubled and scored Tyler McNair to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead after 5 innings of play. The Dawgs added another insurance run in the 6th inning after Jacob Andruss drove in a run to make it 4-2.
The Chimacum Cowboys answered with two runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the score at 4-4, which set-up Nick Tarver's heroics in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Four Bulldogs (Luke Dilly, Spencer Lee, Jacob Andruss, and Nate Grams) played their last game in a Cashmere uniform today. Congratulations Bulldogs!!

On Friday the Bulldogs defeated the defending state champion Naches Valley Rangers by the score of 4-2 to secure a spot in Saturday's state championship game.
Nick Tarver pitched 6-1/3 innings (W, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 K, BB, 2 HP) before Luke Dilly (2/3 IP, H, 2 K, BB) came on to pick up his 5th save of the season in relief.
Cooper Elliott was the offensive hero by going 3-3, with a 2-run home run, and 3 RBI.
