The Buckingham United SC Fire plans to continue their develop through year long training both indoor and outdoors supplemented with tournament and league competition regionally. In the near future, the team hopes to raise their level of play by participating in the United Soccer League (USL) SUPER YOUTH division. This league is the strongest league in the North-Eastern United States and extends with national geographic divisions coast to coast. Similar to MAPS, the USL Super -Y plays at central games sites within the mid-atlantic division in order to limit travel. Check www.uslsoccer.com. What does PREMIER mean?
A premier team is a team that generally wins three-quarters of all its games against Division One teams from any region of the United States. Premier teams usually advance to the later rounds of their state association's Cup and place a minimum of a player or two in their state association's Olympic Development Program (ODP). All players on premier teams generally make their high school varsity teams by their sophomore year and start by their junior year. By the end of their senior year, players on premier teams have the ability to play Division III college soccer, and a few will have the ability to play Division I college soccer and are offered scholarships to play Division I college soccer.
Beyond soccer, the Buckingham United SC FIRE upholds the traditional goals of amateur sports including but not limited to the development of sportsmanship, teammanship, friendship, loyalty, lifetime fitness habits and positive outlets for youth and young adult players.
