Congrats to the Greyhounds for earning bid to AAU Nationals Div II. Greyhounds earned bid by finishing 2nd at the AAU Super Regional in Lakewood on Jun 1st. AAU Nationals Div II are Jul 15-21 in Hampton, VA. Even though we are not currently planning to make the trip, it is still an accomplishment to qualify.

After going 2-0 on Saturday against the Perkasie Knights and Team Hines, the Greyhounds ran into a highly motivated and talented Northeast Sting team. The Greyhounds had the lead 31-30 with under 3 minutes to play, but the Sting made some great defensive plays and finished strong to take the St. Joe's Championship. Great weekend of basketball -- and a chance to sport our medals from the Renegades Tourney where we also placed 2nd!
Congrats to the Delval Greyhounds for going 3-1 in the Renegades Spring Fling Apr 6-7; followed by a 4-0 record in the Lower Bucks Lightning tourney Apr 13-14; followed by another 3-1 record in the Hunterdon Hoops tourney Apr 20-21. After an 0-3 start to the season, the team has won 10 out of our last 12 games including 2 terrific comebacks from 10+ points down with late game heroics. Although we don't stress winning as a priority, it sure makes weekends a lot more fun.
Our team objective is to develop a deeper love of the game and build relationships between players, parents and coaches strong enough to overcome adversity, and last long after the season is over. Every player on the team contributes by playing to our collective strengths during games, and working hard on our individual and team weaknesses during practice. "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link." We use two measuring sticks to determine success: (1) the degree each individual player, parent and coach embraces and enjoys being part of this team. And (2) the degree this team sticks together no matter what adversity awaits us on or off the court. How we handle our most challenging moments will define us as individuals and as a team -- an invaluable life-lesson that transcends basketball.
