| Shakhtar - 2010 State Cup Finalists! |
The Ukrainian Nationals Shakhtar completed their U10 season as finalist in the 2010 EPYSA Challenge Cup. The Shakhtar were one of 44 teams in this event. The Shakhtar advanced from "Group B" with wins against Fox Chase Rampage and PSC Dragons and a tie against Penn Legacy Black. The boys then got on a roll with strong results versus the Buckingham Blast and Lehigh Valley United (in the quarter finals). The team had a tremendous 2-1 semi-final victory versus a talented PSC Celtic team. The team's "Never Say Die" spirit was evident in a match played with skill, speed and sportsmanship by both sides. The finals were played in West Chester against a strong WCUSC team. It was another great match for the fans, but West Chester emerged on top with a 2-0 result. The State Cup completes an incredible season with the team recognized as champions in the CRUSA/FC Bucks Invitational, the VE Father's Day tournament, the Spirit United Kick-Off Classic, the Hempfield Fall Classic, the UJSL Premier league and the Bucksmont indoor league where they participated at the U11 level. Congratulations to the boys on such a successful season. The Shakhtar are coached by Chris Noe and Gary Stephenson. |
