About The Doylestown Junior Rugby Club
The Doylestown Junior Rugby Club was established in 1985 under the leadership of head coach John Tomlinson. The team competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union and is a regular participant in the nation’s annual Cherry Blossom Tournament in Washington DC.
Doylestown Jr. Rugby Club has a proud history that includes:
- Fourteen EPRU Championships (Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union)
- Six time MARFU East Coast Champion (Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union)
- Eleven appearances in the National Championship Tournament, placing second in the country in 1996 and third place in 1988, 1990, 1992, & 1995
The 2007 season saw the Dragons earn a trip to the EPRU playoffs and Win the first EPRU Northeast Division Tournament and Championship.
Membership is open for players between 12-19 years old. See our recruiting page for more information. Team practice begins indoors in late January, moves outside in March and the season ends in May. Most games are played on Sunday afternoons and last about an hour. Outdoor practices and home games are held on the Maennerchor Society Club field on Cold Spring Creamery Road, just east of Route 313 in Doylestown.
