Liability Release and Waiver – Topton Kick or Treat U8 Soccer Tournament

I desire that my child participate in the Topton Kick or Treat 8U Soccer Tournament on October 16th, 2021 with the possible rain out date on October 17, 2021. Accordingly, I/we agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and operation procedures of the Kick or Treat Tournament. I understand that there is always the possibility of serious injury, the contraction of communicable diseases (including but not limited to COVID-19) and even death, during soccer related events. In exchange for allowing my child to participate in this tournament, I/we hereby agree to hold harmless, release, discharge and/or otherwise indemnify the Kick or Treat Tournament, Topton Soccer Club, Reading Berks Junior Soccer League, EPYSA, City of Topton, Brandywine Heights High School and the owners and caretakers of the fields and facilities used, and any and all involved officers, directors, agents, assigns, volunteers, and employees of such groups, from any liability, claims, or cause of action for injury, damage, or death. This hold harmless, release, discharge, and indemnification is on behalf of myself, the child’s parents and/or guardians, and the participating child. I aver that I am the legal parent or guardian of the participating child and that I have full authority to agree to this Liability Release and Waiver on the child’s behalf.

Topton Soccer Club
U8 Tournament Information and Rules
General:
- Game Length: 2 x 15 minute halves with a 5 min half time
- 6-v-6 format: 5 players on the field with 1 goalie. Goalies will be designated by the wearing of a pinnie or differing colored jersey/shirt.
- Field dimensions: approx. size will be 55 x 35 yards. Goal size 6.5x12 feet
- Ball size: 4
- Scoring of games will be kept on the field by referees; no protests will be entertained.
Check-In:
- All teams must arrive and check-in a minimum of 30 min prior to the start of your first game.
- Each team must have the signed liability waiver present upon registration.
- All participants must be included on the wavier; no exceptions.
- In the event of a club is registering multiple teams each individual team will have to complete and supply a separate wavier. However, a club representative may register more than one team to help streamline the registration process.
Team/Player Information:
- Maximum allotted players per team are 10.
- All members of the team must wear matching jerseys, shirts or pinnies during the game.
- All players must wear cleats and protective shin guards.
- Jewelry of any form is prohibited, included taped earrings.
- In the spirit of Halloween, theme inspired uniforms or costumes will be permitted. No masked allowed during the games and matching pinnies will need to be worn during games.
- A tournament medal will be provided to each child for their participation.
Game Specific Rules:
- Substitutions may occur at any stoppage.
- All free kicks will be indirect.
- No penalty kicks; all free kicks will be indirect.
- Throw-ins will restart the game from the sideline. A maximum of two attempts will be allowed.
- Corner or goal kicks will restart the game from the end line.
- Opposing players must give a minimum of 5 yards for any free kick or restart.
- Off sides will not be enforced.
- Goalies cannot punt the ball.
- No heading allowed.
- No slide tackling allowed.
- No on-field coaching – coaches must remain on the sidelines during the game.
Concussion Policy:
- Strict concussion precautions will be taken within the guidelines set by the EPYSA.
- Players showing any sign of head injury or risk of injury will be removed immediately from play and not allowed to return throughout the remainder of the tournament unless medically cleared by a health care professional.
Conduct:
- First and for most this is a U8 YOUTH SOCCER TOURNAMENT; WHERE THE FOCUS SHOULD BE ON FUN, LEARNING, AND ENJOYING THE GAME OF SOCCER.
- Coaches are solely responsible for maintaining a proper level of sportsmanship of their players and players family’s throughout the tournament; on and off the field.
- Ejections by referees of players, coaches and parents due to unruliness or severe poor sportsmanship like conduct will be fully supported by the Topton Soccer Club and individuals involved may be asked to leave the premises. A zero tolerance rule will be enforced.
- Alcohol, the use of tobacco/vaping, drugs and firearms are strictly prohibited on public school property. Furthermore, all Brandywine Heights High School rules apply while attendees are on school property.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
- Every attempt will be made to play the tournament.
- In the event of cancellation due to weather or additional unforeseen circumstances (e.g. COVID Closures) every attempt will be made to play on the scheduled rain out day (October 17th). In the event both days are unplayable each team will receive a refund of 75% of their registration fee.
- If a team chooses to cancel between 90 – 30 days prior to the tournament a 50% refund will be allotted.
- No refund will be provided if a team cancels within 30 days of the tournament.
