New Child Protection laws that affect Warriors volunteers:
Any Warriors volunteer ages 18 and older who accepts responsibility for a Warriors player and has direct contact* with our players is defined as a mandatory reporter under Pennsylvania law:
*“Direct contact” is defined as the care, supervision, guidance or control of children and routine interaction with children. “routine interaction with children” is defined as regular and repeated contact that is integral to a person's employment or volunteer responsibilities.
As a mandatory reporter, certain clearances will be required for an individual to participate within Warriors, the following must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the start of the season. At a minimum this applies to all Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers in each program.
3b. Volunteers who have not been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the last 10 years, an FBI Criminal Background Check is required. Warriors will accept an already completed clearance during any time you were a resident of PA within the past 10 years. Note that an appointment is required and you must register before going to the fingerprint location: https://uenroll.identogo.com In order to get fingerprints for PA you need to enter a Service Code: 1KG6ZJ
Please note that clearances are valid for 60 months from date of issuance.
